Since 1992, a number of visionaries have purchased a large number of .com domains. Many of them have earned millions of dollars buying and selling them. As they use it for their business in most cases, it is obvious that domains are one of the crucial parts of the branding. The best domain names are very worthy because they mean a lot for companies and can contribute a lot to their success. However, owning a domain does not mean that you have done everything, as there are many things that need to be taken care of when it comes to websites, such as web hosting that need to be carefully done, especially when it comes to business. While some domains can be bought for one dollar, and some even completely free, there are those that can be bought for several million dollars. Although some domains are paid with a huge amount of money, it does not mean that they get huge traffic, since many are not ranked on Quantcast or comScore. Believe it or not, this domain was sold for the incredible amount of $872 million. This is the largest domain sale that has ever happened in history, and it occurred in December 2016.


2. Insurance.com

Insurance.com was sold for $35.6 million in 2010. Although much less then the previous one, this price is still very high for a domain!


3. VacationRentals.com 

The price for VacationRentals.com was $35 million in 2007. You can now visit the website if you want to plan your best vacation ever.


4. PrivateJet.com

PrivateJet.com had the amazing price of $30.18 million in 2012. A lot of money, but this domain definitely contributed to a very successful business.


5. Internet.com   

You would guess that the domain named Internet.com would have a great price, and it actually had – $18 million in 2009.


6. 360.com 

The price for 360.com in 2015 was $17 million. I guess that is much more than most of us will ever earn in our lives.


7. Insure.com 

The website that deals with insurance coverage, with the domain Insure.com, had an incredible price of $16 million in 2009.


8. Fund.com  

The estimated price for this domain in 2008 was $9.99 million. Amazing!


9. Business.com 

The domain Business.com, as you can imagine, is on the list of most expensive domains, since its price was $7.5 million in December 1999.


10. Diamond.com

As expensive as diamonds themselves, this domain reached an incredible price of $7.5 millions in 2006.
